3/1/09 Messages in Flowers

Contrary to popular belief, flowers have many qualities and make statements. For example, an orchid is a beautiful flower, but the plant is a parasite. So if someone says that you remind them of an orchid, it would be best to get some follow-up on what they might be attempting to communicate.
There are many types of roses. Each have their own strengths. The

yellow rose in this picture has a sweet odor; however, it has a weak structured and fragle bud. It reminds me to be gentle. In contrast, a Brandy rose has a strong, well formed bud. When a strong wind comes along, it will hold up and live on to another day. A good reminder in todays economy.

3/1/09: The following pictures were taken as part of a number of projects for the class. I love the jar picture. It was taken at night and really blurs the background even though the rose tree was ony a few feet away. The beer picture was lit from underneath. Both of these were part of the depth of field project. I probably learned the most from this project. It is the first time I utilized manual mode for a project.

This is the 4th attempt at posting the truck picture. What can I say, I am a tech neanderthal.

This is a picture of a toy truck I took as part of the Depth of Field assignment. It was fun to do. The truck was lit from underneath.
